Pokémon Celebrations
Pokémon TCG: Celebrations is a special 50-card mini set released on 8 October 2021 as part of the Sword & Shield series, commemorating 25 years of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. The set blends brand-new cards featuring iconic Legendary and Mythical Pokémon with a 25-card Classic Collection subset that lovingly reprints some of the most beloved cards in TCG history — making it one of the most nostalgia-driven releases ever produced.
Which Pokémon cards are in Celebrations?
The main set spotlights Flying Pikachu V & VMAX, Surfing Pikachu V & VMAX, Zacian V, and Zamazenta V, alongside the elusive Mew (025/025) Secret Rare as the set's top chase card. The Classic Collection subset includes stunning replicas of fan-favourite cards such as Base Set Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur, the golden Professor's Research Ultra Rare, Mewtwo-EX, Umbreon ★, Luxray GL LV.X, and Garchomp C LV.X — each stamped with a 25th anniversary emblem and featuring the etched texture of modern Secret Rares. Because Celebrations booster packs were only available inside branded Celebrations products (never sold individually), sealed product quickly became scarce and prices climbed sharply after release.
Buying Celebrations cards
Celebrations was released exclusively in dedicated branded products; individual booster packs were never sold separately. The main product types were:
- Elite Trainer Box — Contains 10 Celebrations booster packs plus 5 additional packs from other recent sets, sleeves, dice, and accessories.
- Mini Tins — Eight small collectible tins each featuring a starter Pokémon from a different generation; each tin includes 2 Celebrations packs and 1 additional booster pack. All eight tins connect to form one large panoramic image.
- Ultra-Premium Collection — The flagship premium product, containing 17 Celebrations packs, 8 additional packs, metal cards, and gold collectibles.
- Collector's Chest — A metal tin with 6 Celebrations packs, foil promo cards, stickers, and a card portfolio.
- Pikachu V-UNION Special Collection — Includes 4 Celebrations packs and exclusive Pikachu V-Union promo cards.
- Premium Figure Collection (Pikachu VMAX) — Contains 8 Celebrations packs alongside a Gigantamax Pikachu figure.
- Deluxe Pin Box — 4 Celebrations packs and an enamel collector pin.
- Prime Collections — Themed collections featuring promo cards such as Lance's Charizard V and Dark Sylveon V.
