Pokémon EX

The EX series ran from 2003 to 2007 and carried the Pokémon Trading Card Game into its third generation, built around the Hoenn region of Ruby and Sapphire. It introduced Pokémon-ex — powerful cards worth two Prize cards when Knocked Out — and the ultra-rare Gold Star Pokémon with their shiny alternate artwork. From the debut Ruby & Sapphire set to the coveted Gold Star chases of Deoxys and Dragon Frontiers, it remains a cornerstone of vintage Pokémon collecting.
