With six Special Illustration Rares and a gold-etched Mega Hyper Rare, this compact 120-card set is one of the most chase-heavy releases in the Mega Evolution block for collectors and competitive players alike.

Pitch Black features six Mega Evolution Pokémon ex: Mega Darkrai ex (Darkness), Mega Zeraora ex (Lightning), Mega Delphox ex (Fire), Mega Chandelure ex, Mega Excadrill ex, and Mega Slowbro ex. The set totals 120 cards — an 84-card main set plus 36 secret rares, including 11 Illustration Rares, 18 Ultra Rares, 6 Special Illustration Rares, and a single Mega Hyper Rare. The premier chase card is the gold-etched Mega Darkrai ex Mega Hyper Rare (card 120/084), followed closely by the Mega Darkrai ex Special Illustration Rare (116/084) illustrated by Akira Egawa. Based on Japan's Abyss Eye expansion, the international release also folds in recent Gym promo cards such as Mega Slowbro ex and Mega Delphox ex.
